Tony Sullivan is retiring from Hannan & Seddon.

Tony has been a key part of Hannan & Seddon (now a division of Corcoran French) for 37 years, but it’s now time for Tony to put aside the law and focus on other things.

Throughout Tony’s time with us, he has had large residential conveyancing, commercial law and rural law practices.  Tony also prepared many Wills and Powers of Attorney over the years for clients.

In the Family Court Tony practised as court appointed Lawyer for Children and was well respected in this area, always trying to get the best possible outcomes for the children he represented.

In his early years Tony was in partnership at various times with Steve Hembrow, Ray MacLean and Martin Bell and from 1992 Tony has been in partnership with colleague and friend Colin Smith who continues at Hannan & Seddon.  Tony and Colin have enjoyed a happy and successful partnership over the past 23 years.

On 1 April 2021 Hannan & Seddon amalgamated with Corcoran French, a firm with offices in Christchurch and Kaiapoi.  The amalgamation between Hannan & Seddon and Corcoran French now provides Hannan & Seddon clients with access to a wider range of legal services and expertise than previously.

Corcoran French have demonstrated their commitment to the West Coast community by commissioning Ryan Keen, from Corcoran French’s Christchurch office, to move to Greymouth to take over a key part of Tony’s practice.  Ryan, along with Charlotte Perkins, is available to assist Tony’s former clients with their legal needs.

Tony is looking forward to, with Allie, spending quality time with grandchildren in Tauranga and Dunedin and he is keen to spend time in the outdoors now he will have the time to do so.

Tony has been a valued member of the Hannan & Seddon and Corcoran French teams and we wish him all the best for a happy and fulfilled retirement.  He’ll be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure of working with him.
